Want To Fix Your Computer? – Remove Spyware Tips

June 9th, 2010
Comments Off

Do you know that Windows XP was the most popular platform attacked by Hackers? The main reason for this is that Windows Xp is integrated deeply with Internet Explorer 6. Internet Explorer 6 is an ancient web browser based on mosaic technology back in the AOL days. Unfortunately, Internet Explorer 6 is the vector for which spyware gets into your Windows XP system. This, of course, causes a lot of computer errors since spyware integrates into the system in the screwiest way possible.

Windows XP needs some serious Windows XP spyware removal in order to fix computer errors. During the olden days of DOS, the only way to fix computer errors was to reboot. And rebooting your PC then takes no time at all. The real cause of the errors is so hard to determine that’s why spyware removal for Windows XP is such a chore. You can’t fix computer problems just by rebooting. Not now and not ever again unfortunately.

What is spyware? Spyware is like an application that gathers data from your Windows machine. Some spyware acts like a real program that you install, and this is very unfortunate because spyware authors are becoming very sophisticated in their gimmickry and attacks. Starting from scratch by reformatting the PC is the only real answer for a lot of Windows experts.

Reformatting is great if you have a lot of time to waste.

Remember, once your system is compromised by spyware, you can never know if you are really spyware free for the remainder of your Windows install.

To fix computer errors, pull up your sleeves and get serious about Windows XP spyware removal. You can do this even if you are a newbie to Windows computers. You just need a little help from someone like me who has a bit of an experience than you. So here goes – this is my fool proof spyware removal tip.

1. Restart into safe mode and do a full scan of your PC using your antivirus scanner.

2. Still in safe mode, run a full scan of your anti-spyware, anti-adware scanners. It will help improve the chance of detection if you use multiple scanners.

3. The features you need to look at when choosing an antivirus and anti-spyware scanner is the ability to scan for rootkits. Rootkits are like spyware but it is even more sinister. It installs itself deep within your Windows XP install and it can even prevent hardware functionality. For example, some rootkits can disable your ability to install antivirus software in your PC. This one is nasty and should be a point of concern. So choose an anti-spyware tool that can detect and remove this malware.

4. Don’t forget to back up your data before you do anything on your PC. I suggest that you do an online back up, like a Carbonite back up, and then a hard drive back up, then make a third off site back up. After your backup, save a restore point in your Windows XP just in case.

Safe surfing is the basics of online security. I suggest that you avoid using an outdated browser like Internet Explorer 6. Upgrade your browser to the latest version and make sure that you install the latest security updates for your Windows XP.

How To Verify The Real Popularity of Any Computer Optimization Software In 15 Minutes or Less?

September 15th, 2009
Comments Off

Overview - This article draws attention to a fast method that anyone can use to independently review the popularity of any computer optimization software (e.g. Registry fix software, registry cleaner software, error fixing software etc..). It also uses the real life example of a website dedicated to help users fix computer errors, which has already adopted this method for screening relevant software for further review.

Readers should be made aware of the fact that, whilst the method described in this article is still new and imperfect it can still be used to their advantage.

The problem - Never has the choice of computer optimization programs been so large, yet most computer users do not tend to rely on impartial information to verify the popularity of computer optimization software before buying their preferred solution. This is problematic because computer optimization software which are not popular are either new, unproven or both. Either way they are riskier.

The options - Most users still rely on forums. However the problem with this method is that forums only provide anecdotal evidence (at best) of the popularity of any software, another downside is the risk that forum participants are just promoting their own products instead of sharing their independent opinion.

Another option is to visit the website(s) of the software vendors. An obvious challenge with this method is that vendors are not independent and that they will always present their software in the best possible way.

An alternative method relies on trusted independent sites, which review different computer optimization software with similar functionality, for example Anit-Virus software, Registry Cleaning Software, Anti Adware/ Spyware programs etc… The challenge with this method is that the vast majority of these websites focus primarily on the detailed functionality and do not provide independent data on the real popularity of the software they are comparing.

So how can anyone determine the real popularity of any computer optimization program independently? (click on registry fix software example)

15 Minutes Method - A superior method is to look at the data provided by digital market places such as Clickbank for example, which is the largest of them all. Digital market places are now selling many of the most popular computer optimization software and also give these software an indicator of popularity often called Gravity. This indicator is usually linked to the volume of sales for a particular software over a period of time. Clickbank calculate and compare the gravity measures of any digital product independently from any other software vendors. Gravity is therefore a good independent measure of popularity. Any users can independently check the popularity of any computer optimization software by checking out Clickbank or another digital marketplace. Even if this method is not perfect (some Computer Optimization Programs are not sold via Clickbank), it is probably the most accessible for anyone to follow independently.

Example - Some software review sites have adopted this method and are now referring to the Clickbank popularity of the digital products that they are also reviewing independently (Click on fix registry errors for a live example).

How to fix a slow computer in less than 15 minutes

September 12th, 2009
Comments Off

Optimising the performance of any computer is easier than many users think. This article provides simple steps to speed up any computer quickly. Step 1 or Step 2 in this article can generally be implemented within 15 minutes with a PC or a Mac.

Step 1 -  Clean the computer registry

Slow computers often have errors in their registry. The registry is comparable to a nervous system. Its main function is to connect software hardware and computer files. Over time the performance of any computer reduces as errors accumulate in the registry, which can also become corrupted. A straightforward step is to locate any errors in the registry then repair them. Users could in theory attempt to cleanup the registry manually, however this method is not recommended as it requires deep knowledge of both the structure of the registry and its functions. Registry fix software are a faster, more reliable alternative to correct errors, remove unused files, any incorrect links and deal with ActiveX components. Click on fix computer registry for more information.

Step 2 – Delete and block adware and spyware

Another common reason leading to computers slowing-down, is the large number of spyware and adware, which are downloaded from the Internet, often without the users knowledge. This happens particularly often, when peer to peer networks are being used to download music and videos for example. One of the simplest solutions to improve any computer’s speed is to use an anti spyware or adware software to scan, remove and block these unwanted threats. In order to try out the right anti spyware or adware program, it is preferable to use a trial version which is usually free. The overall effectiveness of the software is obviously the main feature to consider, however other features are also important such as Ease of Download and Simplicity of Use, Automatic Backup, Quality of Customer Service. The best software tend to be the simplest to use and rely on a research capability that constantly updates the software for new threats. Click on best adware spyware removal for more information.

Step 3 – Eliminate viruses

Unsurprisingly many computer viruses can slow down computers and drive down response times. The problem with many viruses is not only the damage they cause to computer files but also the amount of resources which they use and waste, for example RAM and disk space. By running the latest version of the best anti-virus programs, users should overcome these problems and be in a better position to improve their computer performance.

Step 4 – Simple housekeeping tasks

There are many simple housekeeping tasks which can be done to improve the speed of any computer, for example uninstalling any software that is not needed.  Another tip is to stop programs launching automatically, as this will also improve the speed of the computer. These simple steps usually produce small improvements.

Step 5 – Optimise the Hard disk

For hard disks which are smaller than 2GB then at least 200MB of disk should be kept free and at least 500MB for larger hard disks. This freed up space is an important factor of computer speed as it is used by temporary files which software require to work effectively. This is also used for swapping files when the operating system needs to use virtual memory as it runs out of RAM. The system can slow down significantly in that event, if space on the hard disk is insufficient. Disk scanning programs such as Scandisk for Windows , can also help check for errors on the hard disk itself. For instance the hard disk may be too fragmented and some of its sectors may be damaged, and this can create problems even if the hard drive is large enough. Using a defragmentation program will also improve any computer’s speed.

Step 6 – Optimising the RAM

Some programs are poorly designed and do not release RAM resources after they are closed. This reduces the amount of memory available for other programs. Computers frequently run out of RAM after a while. In order to overcome this, ugrading the RAM is probably necessary. An alternative free option is simply to not run some computer programs at the same time as each other.

Step 7 – Stop the computer from overheating

Faulty fans are a common cause leading to the computer overheating, slowing down then freezing as a result. To overcome this problem, replacing the fan is the most pragmatic solution. The effect should be immediate as this will increase the flow of air through the computer, thereby reducing the computer’s temperature and increasing its speed as a result.

Most Common Computer Errors - Computers have brought dramatic changes in our day to day lives, yet like any machine, they need regular maintenance and upgrade. Many users do not yet realise that the solution required to fix and prevent most computer errors are in fact really simple.

In the majority of cases, errors exist in the EXE, DLL and driver files. This occurs often due the fact that invalid or corrupt entries have been made in the registry. These files are of utmost importance as they create entries in the registry which are also used to operate the system. If a registry becomes damaged or unstable then the number of random responses and the actual response time increase dramatically.

Run Defragmenter - To begin with, run a disk defragmenter. This operation reorganizes the way information is stored on the hard disk (the parts of the many files on the disk are stored closer together and contiguously).Using a defragmentation software frees up large region of space using compaction, and this makes it easier for the computer to find information on the hard disk and reduce computer errors.

Registry Scan - In order to fix computer errors in the registry, it is also advisable to complete periodic registry scans, as this enables unwanted data to be detected and subsequently deleted. Registry repair software are ideal to complete this operation easily. There are many registry repair programs which also have the functionality to complete registry maintenance tasks, for instance deleting undesirable programs such as viruses and spyware, scanning and fixing computer errors in the registry, in addition they can backup the computer registry and defragment the hard disk. Remove Spyware and Viruses - Spyware and virus programs create most of the computer errors. Viruses are malicious software, which often damage computer files as well as reduce computer speed. This contrasts with software programmed to copy malicious code onto the computer in order to steal confidential data (spyware). Frequently, this code is subsequently transmitted later for further malevolent use. In order to fix computer errors due to spyware and viruses, follow a common sense approach and use updated anti-spyware and antivirus tools. Click on adware and spyware removal for more information.

Fix Boot Sector - Faulty programs, in addition to virus infections can also damage computer boot sectors, and this can prevent the system from booting. Using the operating system booting CD provided with your computer is often the simplest and most effective solution to fix computer errors, which relate to booting. For instance, XP users can use the relevant operating system to repair the Windows installation.

Upgrade Your RAM - Insufficient memory is another source of errors, which can lead to various computer problems. Some of these problems result in system crashes, blue screen, system hang, sudden restart or even crashing software programs. Fixing computer errors that relate to memory can often be achieved with freeware, which help resolve RAM and related issues. These programs are easy to use and also grealy improve computer performance. In addition it is highly advisable to complete a computer memory test.

August 6th, 2009
Comments Off

This article describes simple steps that anyone can follow to rapidly speed up their computer. Step 1 or Step 2 in this article can generally be implemented within 15 minutes with a PC or a Mac.

Step 1 -  Clean the computer registry

Slow computers often have errors in their registry. The main functions of a registry are about connecting hardware, software and computer files. In practice therefore, the computer registry acts as the computer’s nervous system. Errors often lead to the corruption of the registry, and reduce the computer speed . Locating then fixing errors in the registry is therefore frequently required. Users could in theory attempt to cleanup the registry manually, however this method is not recommended as it requires deep knowledge of both the structure of the registry and its functions. Registry cleaner software are a faster, more reliable alternative to remove errors, unused file, poor links and deal with ActiveX components. Click on fix computer registry for more information.

Step 2 – Delete and block adware and spyware

Another common reason leading to computers slowing-down, is the large number of spyware and adware, which are downloaded from the Internet, often without the users knowledge. This usually happens when peer to peer networks are involved, for example when downloading videos and music. A simple solution to make any computer faster is to run an anti spyware or adware program to scan, remove then block these unwanted malware. It helps to test the relevant anti spyware or adware program by downloading a trial version as most of them are free.

Computer viruses must be deleted for two reasons, firstly they often damage files, secondly they tend to waste memory and disk space. Running the latest version of some of the leading anti-virus software should overcome these problems and users who do so will be in a stronger position to improve the performance of their computer.

Step 4 – Simple housekeeping tasks

There are many simple housekeeping tasks which can be done to improve the speed of any computer, for example uninstalling any software that is not needed.  Alternatively, stopping programs to launch automatically can also improve the performance of any computer. These straightforward tasks generally deliver marginal improvements.

Step 5 – Optimise the Hard disk

For hard disks which are smaller than 2GB then at least 200MB of disk should be kept free and at least 500MB for larger hard disks. Computer speed also depend on the free space on the hard disk, as temporary files are placed there by computer software. This also enables the operating system to swap files using the hard disk as it runs out of RAM. In that event, users can experience a reduction in speed, if too little space is available on the hard disk. Disk scanning programs such as Scandisk for Windows help scan for errors on the hard disk itself. For instance, your hard disk may be large enough but too fragmented and some disk sectors may have been damaged. Running a defragmentation program is another step that can be completed to improve  the speed of any computer.

Step 6 – Optimising the RAM

Some programs are poorly designed and do not release RAM resources after they are closed. This means that other programs have less memory to run. Running out of RAM too fast is not uncommon and users who have this problem should consider upgrading the memory on their computer. Alternatively running certain programs simultaneously should also be avoided, this option is of course free.

Registry Fix V7.1! How Good Exactly?

June 6th, 2009
Comments Off

Computer threats are continuously on the rise bringing havoc to computer registries and slowing down computers around the globe, and as a result of this, registry repair software need to adapt continuously. This article draws attention to the results obtained whilst testing Registry Fix. Tests were carried out by our testing team (Click on registry fix review for more information).

In the main, Registry Fix has been one of the most popular solution Clickbank (largest digital market place), and achieved over 13 million downloads. We wanted to establish if Registry V7.1 was actually as good as the software vendors make it.

Our conclusions are based upon our independent tests, which covered scanning, detecting, resolving registry errors, and optimising computer performance, with a focus on the most common errors: Missing startup programs, invalid device drivers, invalid application paths, missing dll files, missing help files, missing system fonts, ActiveX component errors and other common causes of registry corruption.

Following our review, we now understand why Registry Fix is so popular (over 13 million downloads to date)! In order to complete the review, we setup Registry Fix on computers with characteristics which were comparable to most computers today: The computers were all running anti-virus programs as this tends to reduce the large volume of registry errors, which may be caused by viruses, trojan and worms. The computers had run for about one year, and from a software perspective had had about 25 additional software and installed on them and about 15 uninstalled programs since they were first used.

One of our tester uncovered 731 problems with his computer registry. Our testers drew attention to the fact that, one advantage of Registry Fix is that it resolves much more than a few errors and that it had great capability in optimising computer performance. (Click on registry fix review for more information).

During the Registry Fix review our testers verified that the free Trial Version Actually Solves Problems Too -  Registry Fix trial version can resolve up to 45 problems. Fixing problems with a free version of the software is a truly great feature, which exceeds many of competitor’s free version capability.

The statement that “Registry Fix repair problems in 1 Click” is actually true - The most common challenge after finding Registry errors,  is usually to establish what caused them. The manual method requires going through the registry line by line. Fixing 731 errors manually would have been impractical. Instead, the “Repair Problems” button proved a popular feature with our testers who used it to fix the problems which had been detected by Registry Fix. Very quickly, Registry Fix completed the scan of the registries and resolved the root causes of errors.

Registry Fix V7.1 remain affordable for most users. Anyone can download the free trial version of Registry Fix, the single full user licence cost $37.

Registry Fix V7.1 solves many other problems too - Our tester were impressed by the fact that Registry Fix V7also repair a lot more than just a few errors.Registry Fix can either run at pre-set times of ad-hoc. The automatic backup functionality means that users should minimize the risk of losing files, even when faced with serious computer problems.

Conclusion -Registry Fix V7.1 is truly an excellent piece of software amongst other popular solutions on Clickbank. Click on registry fix review for additional information.

How to speed up your computer in less than 15 minutes?

June 5th, 2009
Comments Off

There are many ways to speed up computers and improve their performance, this article covers simple steps that anyone can follow. Implementing step 1 or step 2 should take no more than 15 minutes and will work for both PC and Mac users.

Step 1 -  Clean the computer registry

Slow computers often have errors in their registry. The registry is comparable to a nervous system. Its main function is to connect software hardware and computer files. Over time, errors occur and this slows down computers, frequently their registry become corrupted. A simple step is therefore to locate then fix registry errors. Cleaning the registry manually is possible but not recommended, as this method requires specific knowledge of the registry structure and its functions. Registry fix software are a faster, more reliable alternative to correct errors, remove unused files, any incorrect links and deal with ActiveX components. Click on compare registry fix software for more information.

Step 2 – Delete and block adware and spyware

Another common reason leading to computers slowing-down, is the large number of spyware and adware, which are downloaded from the Internet, often without the users knowledge. This happens particularly often, when peer to peer networks are being used to download music and videos for example. A straightforward solution to improve the speed of any computer is to use an anti spyware or adware program to scan, remove then block adware and spyware. Most anti spyware or adware software have a free trial version and it is worth using this first to try out the program. The main features to consider are Ease of Download and Simplicity of Use, Automatic Backup, Quality of Customer Service, and the overall effectiveness of the software. The best software tend to be the simplest to use and rely on a research capability that constantly updates the software for new threats. Click on best adware spyware removal for more information.

Step 3 – Eliminate viruses

Unsurprisingly many computer viruses can slow down computers and drive down response times. Often viruses damage computer files and use excessive resources such as large amount RAM and disk space.

Marginal improvements usually result from these simple tasks.

Step 5 – Optimise the Hard disk

For hard disks which are smaller than 2GB then at least 200MB of disk should be kept free and at least 500MB for larger hard disks. Computer speed also depend on the free space on the hard disk, as temporary files are placed there by computer software. This free space also enables your computer to swap files as the computers starts using virtual memory (when it runs out of RAM). Unless sufficient space on the hard disk is availble, the system slows down significantly in that event. Disk scanning programs such as Scandisk for Windows can help check for errors on the hard disk. For example, whilst the hard drive may be large enough, the problem may be that it is too fragmented or that some of its sectors have been damaged.

Installing a new fan is the best solution to overcome this problem, as this increases the air flow through the computer thereby reducing the machine’s temperature and improving its performance.
