Creative Labs found a niche in the quickly growing pocket camcorder space by bringing out models that cost less than its competitors but offered many of the same features. It’s actually much same with its latest model, Creative calls it the Vado HD 3rd Gen. This model offers 720p HD resolution, 4GB of built-in memory, and an HDMI output in a compact, stylish package that weighs a mere 3.3 ounces. It requires you to purchase an additional memory card because it lacks any real internal memory. You can choose 5 different colors, they are white, purple, black, blue/cyan, and red.

Vado 3rd Gen comes equipped with a photo feature that lets you shoot up to 7,000 of widescreen still shots. No Macro / Close-up mode, or image stabilization, but it has a motion detection settings that records when it detects the movement dissolved in front of the lens. As with all current pocket camcorders, there is a 2x digital zoom, but no optical zoom.

If you are video enthusiasts, you will be delighted at how much you can use the multifunction connector and the Vado Central 3.0 software. As for the audio, it’s louder than the original Vado HD. For best results you do have to stand fairly close to your subject and not have too much extraneous noise, but it does record and play back with ample volume and relatively clearly. This model supports an optional external Stereo Microphone via the headphone jack that allows enhanced recording features, and playback time.

Sporting a built-in flexible USB arm that connects easily to your computer or laptop, Creative Vado 3rd Generation lets you view and edit your videos or pictures before posting them onto popular social media sites with the bundled Vado Central 3.0 software. The software allows you to easily uploads to Youtube, Photobucket, Box.net and KinKast, just remember to store your username and password to each one. You can also e-mail clips to friends and family.

Creative Vado 3rd Generation is easy to use, small size and much easier to travel with this one overseas. If your looking for a small and affordable cam this is the one.
